Students learning remotely have difficulty finding a clear distinction between work and home. Tempo is an app that promotes effective study habits by gamifying the pomodoro technique where breaks are interspersed with timed work cycles.
I worked on a team with 3 other software developers to implement Tempo's features. My contributions included managing the team backlog and facilitating discussions on team work processes with the Stop-Start-Continue model. I also worked on the pomodoro timer and created Cypress and Jest tests for the features.

As users complete work cycles, their fish tanks grow lively with more fish. After login, users start a pomodoro timer (4-25 minute work, 3-5 minute break cycles) to pace their studying. After each work cycle, users are rewarded with a fish added to their tank. Users can track their progress against their friends using the Leaderboard where they can view friend fish tanks as well as send messages and fish food gifts.
